About Us
We are a member of the Black Hills Youth Football League (BHYFL). This is a family-oriented tackle football and cheer program. We teach the importance of safety, academics, families and giving back to our communities!
Our History
The Lead-Deadwood Youth Football and Cheer began in 2013, with 18 players and 6 cheerleaders, since it’s inception there has been a steady growth and in 2019 we had approx. 55 players and 23 cheerleaders. We pay for our membership each year in the BHYFL!
How We Make It!
This organization is ran solely by parent and coach volunteers! We raise money by soliciting the local communities to help sponsor the teams; by offering a car wash operated by the players at the Steel Wheel Trading Post in June; by selling jerky; and helping to pick up after the Deadwood Jam! This year we have also applied for a few local grants to raise some additional monies.
